Palak Soya Pulao

During school days it's really difficult for me to include greens in my children's diet since they don't like taking it to school so I make this palak pulao which tastes great and I have the satisfaction of including green leafy vegetables in their diet! Off late, I have started adding soya, lobia or paneer to the palak pulao I pack for them. Makes it more nutritious - iron and protein packed and they don't complain!

Soya Pulao

Pulao is one of the few dishes that my fussy kids like to eat! So, I make a pulao once every week for lunch box. I make it a different pulao every week to keep it interesting. I make this soya pulao and my kids and their friends like eating the little soya nuggets. I always have a pack of soya in my pantry and if I don't have anything to add to the pulao, I make this soya pulao instead of a making a plain jeera pulao. Check out the other pulao recipes.

One of the things I notice is that, the pulao is never spicy, so to make it spicy add lots of green chillies or add some garam masala to spice it up. And as always with all my pulao recipes, I add some coconut milk which lifts it to a whole new level.

Soya Biryani | Soya Recipes

I am so much in love with the tiny soya nuggets, tastes so good and is so soft, turns out delicious in which ever curry I use it in. I have made soya masala and soya kurma using the same small nuggets and we loved that too.

My in laws were visiting us and they are vegetarians, they love soya so I made this biryani for them. This is a no fail, sure hit recipe!

I add a tbsp milk to a saucepan full of water and soak the soya to remove the raw odour, I have found this works well.

Soya Kurma | Meal Maker Kurma

Soya nuggets are so rich in protein next to meat, for vegetarians this is a wonderful alternative to meat. If you don't take meat and eggs then you can rely on soya nuggets to meet your daily protein quota. These soya nuggets are also great for kids who don't like eating meat. I prefer the small sized soya chunks to the larger ones. I have already posted soya 65 and soya masala.
I love making kurma, my family too loves kurma for idli, dosa and roti. This kurma is finger licking good!

Soya Chunks Masala | Meal Maker Masala | Soya Chunks Recipes

I used to love soya chunks when I was little, I remember my mother making biryani with this meal maker and we used to enjoy it. But as we grew older, my brother and me started noticing a weird flavor and raw odour with these meal makers and completely refused to eat it!

Now many years later, I have found that preparing the soya is the key to remove all raw odour in these meal makers, I use a bit of milk and it works wonders and this has once again become a family favorite!

Check out the soya 65 recipe.
