Dates Milkshake

This is a delicious milkshake and works like magic for breakfast! Healthy and filling. This is also a great way to include dates in your child's diet, if they are not fond of eating them.
I had a packet of dates lying around for sometime and was thinking of how to use it up and I ended up baking a date walnut cake and then with the remaining, made this fantastic milkshake.

DATES MILKSHAKE
 Serves 2-3

Ingredients
  • Date - 15
  • Milk - 1.5 cup
  • Vanilla ice cream - 1 scoop
Dates Milkshake

Method
1. De seed the dates and soak them in 1/2 cup of hot milk for about 30 minutes. This will make the dates soft and easy to blend.

2. Blend the dates with the ice cream.
3. Transfer to a bowl and add the remaining milk and mix well.

4. Serving it chilled or not is your choice!

Notes
1. You can add 5 walnuts or almonds and blend it along with the dates too.
2. Skip the ice cream if your not interested.
3. I did not add sugar since the dates and ice cream was sweet enough.
4. Adjust milk according to the consistency you prefer.
5. If you don't have time to soak the dates then blend directly with milk but blend longer so that the dates are completely ground to a paste

Until next time,
