Athalakkai Poriyal | Athalakkai Stir Fry

My father loves vegetables and growing up, we were exposed to a lot of veggies. Being a fussy eater, I was never a fan of some of the veggies that my mom cooked but now, post marriage I have learnt to eat a lot of vegetables. But still this vegetable is still not my favorite since it is extremely bitter. This is supposed to be very good for diabetics.

Microwave Oreo Cake

I was sulking one day, really badly, dejected and low. I wanted to eat some chocolates because chocolate does lift me up. Really! Chocolate triggers the release of hormones like endorphins and serotonin, which are 'feel good' hormones. These are natural hormones released by our brain which promotes feelings of pleasure and a general sense of well being.

Eggless Marble Cupcakes

I participated in a bake sale in my husband's office and I was pretty thrilled since this was my first bale sale. I was asked to bake some marble cakes but my husband felt cupcakes would be better than cakes so I made these cupcakes and they were well received and was sold off very quickly! I frosted these cupcakes with ganache and these cuppies turned out to be so delicious, so yum!

There are some other marble cakes that I have already posted, chocolate and vanilla marble cake (with eggs) and an eggless chocolate and mango marble cake and a Zebra Cake.

Ultimate Brownies

My love affair with brownies continues with this Hershey's Ultimate Brownies! I find that brownies are the easiest to bake and most loved by all so I tend to bake brownies whenever I visit someone. This time, I baked this brownie for my nieces and I should say this is one of the most delicious brownies I have had and everybody else felt the same way too and these brownies disappeared quickly!

Baby Potato and Peas Masala | Aloo Matar Recipe

Aloo matar is one of the favorite side dish for roti/paratha and also for rice. We make this often at home and this time, I decided to make this dish with baby potatoes. We are typical south indians so we enjoyed this with a plate of rice and murungakai kuzhambu!!

This is the easiest and simplest version of aloo matar. The whole process gets over quickly, perfect for early morning bustle!

Thinnai Pongal | Foxtail Millet Pongal

Thinnai has become my husband's favorite, actually all millets are his favorite and he wants us to include millets in our daily or atleast weekly meals. I tried this pongal with foxtail millet and I should say all my skepticism vanished! This pongal tasted absolutely delicious and it tastes just like the normal ven pongal or the oats pongal that we are so used to! This makes a delicious and healthy breakfast dish.
We add a bit more moong dal in our pongal recipes and that makes the pongal really yum. Also I add pepper powder instead of whole peppers since no one eats whole peppers!
Do try this out and switch to a more healthy lifestyle.

Christmas Cake Truffles | Christmas Cake Balls

Here is another way to use up left over Christmas Cakes. In our home, fruit cakes never last long so this time as soon as I baked the cake, I hid half of the cake to make these truffles and the fruit cake fudge bar, for my blog!! These truffles are easy to make and tastes delicious too! It tastes so good that you don't have to make this with just left over fruit cakes, you can bake cakes just to make these truffles!

Hershey's Chocolate Cake

What better way to ring in the New Year than a perfect chocolate cake! This is one of the best chocolate cakes out there, it's Hershey's Perfectly Perfect Chocolate Cake! I baked this cake for my son's birthday party, we had a total of 3 small parties and for the first party, I made an eggless strawberry mousse cake and for the second party, I baked this cake.

Hershey's Chocolate Cake

This cake is so moist and so delicious and so rich! The kids who came for the party and the families who had this cake, enjoyed it very much. This cake is very similar to another chocolate cake in my blog, that's the Best Ever Chocolate Cake recipe except, that recipe uses buttermilk and coffee and this recipe uses only milk and no coffee.
