Here's an easy and simple dessert you can make for your family that is healthy and tasty. Whenever I have left over bananas I usually bake cakes with it but if I don't feel like baking a cake or if I have very less bananas then I make this mousse or this banana chocolate mousse. You can serve this as a dessert or an after school snack.
I made this mousse out of nedram pazham that no one in the family wanted to eat. You will have to adjust the sugar according to the ripeness of the banana.

Aval or poha is nothing but flattened rice and considered to be rich in vitamins and protein. This red aval is considered to be even more healthy and nutritious than the normal white aval. The red aval is made from red rice and is rich in iron. If anyone in your family has an iron deficiency then it is recommended to include this red aval in the daily diet.

Homemade Turmeric Powder

I think most South Indian's make their own turmeric powder, my parents always make a huge batch of turmeric powder and gives me some too. Some store bought turmeric powders have colors added to it so my parents always make their own. Since they make a large batch, they grind the turmeric in the local mill. But sometimes I find that the guy at the mill grinds the turmeric after he grinds red chillies thereby making the turmeric little spicy. So I make a small batch of turmeric powder at home and use it to make turmeric milk for kids or some other drinks using turmeric for digestion.

Homemade Turmeric Powder

Turmeric is a spice which gives yellow color to the food and is used widely in Indian cuisine. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and it's a strong anti-oxidant. No Indian dish is complete without the addition of this turmeric! Especially in South India, we use turmeric in almost everything we cook!

Dry Fruits Ladoo

Dry fruits ladoo is an easy to make healthy snack that you can make for kids. It is made with any kind of dry fruits. In this recipe I used dates, figs and raisins. You can pick and choose the variety of dry fruits you use and you can change the quantity used as per your choice. There is no need to add any sweetener as the dates, figs and raisin are very sweet to taste.

Dry Fruits Ladoo

You can make big sized ladoos also, I made very small balls as my kids are small they prefer the small size. I have used copra thenga to make this ladoo due to it's high nutritional value. Copra thengai increases brain powder, reduces cholesterol and prevents anemia. If you don't have it, you can use dessicated coconut too.
