How to make Hung Curd

Hung curd is nothing but curd with all the whey removed from it. It is made by putting the curd in a muslin cloth or cheese cloth and all the whey water is allowed to drain out. The resulting thick curd is called as hung curd.
There are many recipes that use hung curd, I mostly use it in desserts only. The most common recipe made with hung curd is shrikhand

Jackfruit Mousse

Jackfruit is one of my most favorite fruits! This is my first recipe of jackfruit as every time we buy some, we always end up eating it up. This time, my jackfruit was not so sweet or tasty so I made this mousse and a milkshake with it.

Eggless Jackfruit Mousse

My children never eat jackfruit and my mother in law always used to tell me to make this simple eggless mousse for them. This is easy to make, like this easy eggless mango mousse, and it tastes great!

Chicken Pulao

Chicken pulao is flavorful, mild rice recipe that we love at home. Many people don't prefer to make a chicken pulao as the chicken biryani always takes precedence over any other chicken rice recipe in South India! But I always make a chicken pulao when the side dishes are heavily packed with mutton recipes. In those instances instead of a simple ghee rice, a chicken pulao makes the lunch light and tasty!

Aloo Capsicum Rice

Today I have another lunch box recipe and this is made with the ever favourite potatoes and capsicum. This is an easy and simple recipe that you can make for kids lunch boxes or you can have this on a lazy day, when you don't feel like cooking! You can have this rice with chips or raita and it tastes yum!

Fruit Cake Trifle

Trifle is a dessert made with layers of cake, custard, jelly and cream. You can make a trifle with vanilla sponge cake or a chocolate cake. I had some left over Christmas Fruit Cake so I made this plum cake trifle. A Christmas fruit cake already has a lot of flavor in it and all the nuts and fruits along with the custard, jelly and cream made it delicious!

Keerai Kedayal

Any variety if keerai is highly nutritious, including green leafy vegetables is very good for us. Greens is rich is iron, fibre and vitamins! One of my father's friend who is a naturopath, told me many years ago that it is very good to include one variety of keerai everyday!

There are many different ways to make keerai. I make a poriyal or kootu with it. My mother in law makes this kedayal and my husband likes to have keerai this way.
