Mushroom Omelette

Here is an easy and delicious omelette recipe that you can make for your family. It's so good to have an egg for breakfast and when you can add some mushrooms to it, makes it all the more healthy and tasty!
It's no secret that I love mushrooms and I am always looking for ways to add it to my dishes and I loved this spicy masala mushroom omelette. If your kids don't like it spicy, then skip the masalas and add a lot of cheese and make a cheesy mushroom omelette!


Mushroom Omelette


MUSHROOM MASALA OMELETTE
Preparation time 5 mins | Cooking time 5 mins | Serves 1

Ingredients
  • Button Mushroom - 4 or 5
  • Egg - 1
  • Onion - 1
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 1 tsp
Mushroom Omelette

Method
1. In a tawa, add oil. Add the chopped onions, curry leaves and some salt and saute till the onions are translucent.



2. Add the chopped mushrooms and cook for a few minutes.
3. Add the masalas, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and cumin powder and mix well. Check for salt.



4. In another bowl, break open an egg and add pepper powder and whisk lightly.
5. Transfer the mushroom-onion mixture to the whisked egg and mix well. Add required salt.



6. Lightly oil the tawa again and pour the egg mixture. Once one side is cooked, flip it over and remove from heat.


Mushroom Omelette


Notes
1. Flipping the omelette is optional. I like it well cooked so I cook on both sides.
2. Skip the masala and use cheese for a cheesy mushroom omelette.
