Nutella Ganache

I have been trying to loose some weight and a bottle of nutella has been staring at me for so long! I have tried to resist it for far too long and then one day when I baked a cake for my daughter's friend's family, I wanted to use up this nutella simply because I won't have it lying around! That turned out to be such a brilliant idea!

Nutella Ganache

My most favorite frosting is ganache, I frost most of my cakes and cupcakes with ganache. I have also written a detailed post on how to make ganache. Adding nutella to the ganache, made an already yummy ganache, even more irresistible!

Nutella Ganache

Nutella Ganache
Preparation time 5 mins | Resting time 1 hour | Makes - about 1/2 cup

Ingredients
  • Chocolate - 83 gms (I used Morde dark compound)
  • Cream - 1/3 cup (I used amul fresh cream)
  • Nutella - 3 tbsp
Nutella Ganache

Method
1. Chop the chocolate into small pieces. Add it to a bowl.
2. Heat the cream in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds or a saucepan until you see bubbles appearing around the sides.
3. Do not heat it for too long.

4. Pour the cream over the chopped chocolate and wait for 5 minutes. Make sure all the chocolate pieces are submerged.
5. After 5 minutes, start mixing until you get a homogeneous mix.
6. Now add 3 tbsp of nutella and mix in.

7. Leave it aside for a an hour until it becomes thick and you can use it to spread on the cake. If you leave it in the refrigerator it becomes very thick. Bring it to room temperature and then use it to frost.

Notes
1. You can also add a tsp of butter for a glossy nutella ganache.
2. If you prefer a more thinner ganache to pour over the cake, increase the amount of cream.

I used the ganache to frost this egg free mini chocolate cake!

Until next time,

    1. You can't pipe using this quantity. You can increase the chocolate a bit more and then try to pipe.
