Vazhaithandu Mor | Banana Stem Buttermilk | வாழைத்தண்டு மோர் - In this post, we will see how to make vazhaithandu mor (banana stem buttermilk). This is a healthy and tasty drink. Anyone with kidney problems or high uric acid can have this drink.
Ingredients
- Vazhaithandu - medium
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Coriander leaves
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Green chilli - 1
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 1.5 cups

Method
1. Take a medium sized banana stem, clean it and chop it into smaller pieces.
2. Add the chopped pieces in water otherwise it will blacken.
3. Then add all the pieces into a large mixee jar, add the coriander leaves, ginger, green chilli and shallots.
4. Add little water and grind to smooth paste.
5. Open the mixee, add curd and extra 1 cup of water and salt. Close the mixee and blend till smooth.
6. Strain the juice well. You can strain it using a cloth or strain using a fine strainer.
Notes
1. Adding coriander leaves or stalks enhances the flavor of the buttermilk.
