Method
1. In a kadai, heat oil and add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and red chillies.
2. Add the chopped onions, saute till the onions become translucent.
3. Add the chopped broad beans and mix in with the onions.
4. Sprinkle little water, cover and cook the avarakkai.
5. After 5 mins, the broad beans are half cooked, add salt for the broad beans.
6. Add the cooked black eyed peas to the avarakkai and mix well.
7. Now add the coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder. Cover and cook for 3 mins.

A healthy broad beans black eyed peas stir fry is ready.

Notes
1. To add the black eyed peas to this stir fry, soak about 1/4 to 1/2 cup overnight, pressure cook the next morning and add it to the stir fry.
2. You can use any sundal variety instead of this black eyed peas.
3. This makes the poriyal protein rich. If your children don't eat sundal, then you can add it like this to any poriyal that you make.
4. I always add a little bit of such sundal to all my poriyal to make it more healthy and tasty.
