Double Beans Poriyal | Double Beans Stir Fry - In this post, we will see how to make a tasty, healthy double beans poriyal.


Ingredients
  • Double beans - 250 gms (fresh)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - handful
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Hing

Method
1. In a small pressure cooker, add 2 tbsp water and salt. Let the salt dissolve.
2. Add the fresh double beans and cook for 1 whistle.
3. In a kadai, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, hing and curry leaves.
4. Then keep the flame at low and add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix well.
5. Now add the cooked double beans with the water.(I did not have water remaining)
6. Cook covered for 5 mins. Check for salt.
7. Finally add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix well and switch off flame.

Notes
1. You can do the same with dried double beans too. Then pressure cook for more whistles.
