I am always eager to make paneer recipes. I love paneer and can eat anything made with paneer. This dish is very simple to prepare and goes well with roti, paratha or even dosa.
Paneer is Indian Cottage cheese and this can also be called as scrambled cottage cheese!
I have made a very simple bhurji, you can do any combination you want. This was so tasty that I had it just like that with a spoon!
PANEER BHURJI
Preparation time 15 mins | Cooking time 15 mins | Serves 2-3
Ingredients
Method
1. In a pan, heat oil and add the cumin seeds and curry leaves. Wait for the cumin seeds to splutter.
2. Add the chopped onions and some salt. Salt helps the onions to cook faster.
3. Saute till the onions become translucent. Add the ginger garlic paste. Saute for few more minutes.
4. Add the chopped tomatoes. Mix well. Cover and allow to cook until the tomatoes are cooked in medium flame.
5. Add the masalas - turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder. Mix well and allow to cook for 2 minutes.
6. If t's too dry, add 2 tbsp of water to mix the masalas well.
7. Add the shredded paneer and mix well.
8. Allow to cook for a few more minutes. Check for salt and switch off.
Notes.
1. You can add fresh/ frozen peas, capsicum to this.
2. My ginger garlic paste is green in color since I made a paste of ginger+garlic+mint leaves. You can add the mint leaves separately too.
