Barnyard Millet Dosa - In this post, we will see how to make a crispy
and tasty millet dosai.
Ingredients
- Any millets - 2 cups (I used Barnyard millet)
- Urad dal - 3/4 cup
- Poha - 1 cup
- Channa Dal - 1/4 cup
- Salt - to taste

Method
1. Take the millets, urad dal, poha and channa dal in a bowl. Wash well and soak for 4-6 hours.
2. Add the soaked millets and dal in a large mixee jar. Add in 2 batches.
3. Add salt while grinding. Add enough water and grind to make a smooth batter.
4. Cover and let it ferment for 8-10 hours.
5. After 8 hours, mix the risen batter lightly and make dosas.
6. Add oil or ghee while making the dosa.
7. Serve with chutney or sambar.
Notes
1. I always soak my millets and dal together. I don't soak separately.
2. You can use any millets of your choice. I have used barnyard millet.
3. Adding poha and channa dal gives a super crispy dosa.
4. Using a good iron tawa is also essential for a crispy dosa.
