Oreo Cheesecake (No bake and eggless)

I made this cake ages ago for my nieces, I think all my oreo based recipes in this blog have been made for them! This is an easy cheesecake recipe and it tastes absolutely delicious! I have already posted a chocolate chilli cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, mango cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake (all eggless and no bake recipes). I love all my cheesecakes, it is awesome. The only thing is, it is very rich and so I don't make it often.
As with my other cheesecake recipes, I have used cottage cheese for this recipe, you can use cream cheese too.

Oreo Cheesecake

OREO CHEESECAKE (EGGLESS & NO BAKE)
Preparation time - 20 mins | Setting time 4-6hrs | Serves - about 10 slices

Ingredients

For the base
  • Oreo cookies - 20 (with cream)
  • Melted butter - 2 tbsp
For the cheesecake
  • Cottage cheese (paneer) - 200gms
  • Condensed milk - 400 gms (1 tin)
  • Fresh cream - 200 ml (I used amul)
  • Oreo cookies - 20
  • Gelatin - 2 tbsp (OR) agar agar powder 1.5 tbsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup
Oreo Cheesecake

Method

Preparation
  1. Butter the bottom and sides of an 8 inch springform pan.
  2. If you don't have a springform pan, use your normal cake pan or a tart pan. Line the regular cake pan with a clingfilm or aluminium foil. Line the bottom and sides together without cutting the clingfilm so that you can easily lift the cheesecake out when it's set.

For the base
1. Add the oreo cookies to a blender and crush to a powder.

2. Transfer to a bowl and add 2 tbsp melted butter. Mix well.

3. Transfer the biscuit mixture to the base of the pan and press well all over. Refrigerate until we finish the next step.

For the cheesecake
1. Take 2 tbsp of gelatin in 1/2 a cup of water and mix. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Then heat it in a microwave or sauce pan for 30 seconds. Let it cool. It will become a clear solution.

2. Grate or chop the paneer and add it to a blender. Add the condensed milk and fresh cream and blend till smooth.
3. Now add 20 oreos, chopped roughly and blend everything till smooth.

4. Transfer to a bowl and add the cooled gelatin. Mix well.
5. Bring the base of the pan from the refrigerator and pour the cheesecake mixture in it, tap lightly.

6. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours until set. Once it sets well, remove the outer ring, decorate with more oreos if you prefer and serve!

Notes
1. The melted butter shown in the picture is more, I added only 2 tbsp from it.
2. If you use oreos without cream for the base, you will have to add more than 2 tbsp melted butter to bind the biscuits together. Since I have used with cream, 2 tbsp is more than enough.
3. While making the cheesecake, you need not blend the oreos. You can pour the cheese mixture in a bowl and simply add chopped oreos in it. I wanted the oreo flavor to be predominant hence blended the whole thing together.
4. Use any flavor of oreo cookie you want.
5. You can add a tsp of vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp of salt too.
6. If you prefer you can add more sugar but it's really not needed with the condensed milk and chocolate oreos.
7. If using agar agar powder, add it to warm water and bring it to a rolling boil. Agar agar needs a rapid rolling boil to activate. Let it cool to almost room temperature. Keep stirring often so that the agar agar does not form lumps. Please Note - I have never used agar agar, use as per your discretion.
8. Keep the cake refrigerated and finish it as soon as possible since we are adding perishables in it. I have kept the cake refrigerated for 2-3 days.

  13. Have you tried using khoya instead of paneer? I have some khoya sweets and was thinking of replacing paneer with it and reducing the condensed milk quantity to avoid making it too sweet. do you think it would work well?

  14. Beulah, your recipes are wonderful. I just need help in taking out the cake unscathed from the springform tin. How do i achieve that?

    1. Thank you :) If you've greased you tin well, it's very easy to remove from the pan. Just put a knife or spatula slowly until the biscuit layer and lift it up (it will lift easily) then insert something more sturdy like a cake lifter, which has a broad base, and can support the cake nicely. Then lift it gently to your serving platter. The key is greasing the pan.
Or if you're feeling adventurous, you can quickly invert and remove the cake as soon as you remove from the refrigerator! I've done that too for my mango cheesecake.
      Hope this helps :)

    1. Let it sit at room temperature for sometime that will make it easy to cut through.

    1. Hi Sangeeta, for both I have used oreo biscuits with the cream. I chose chocolate oreos to enhance the flavor of the cheesecake. You can use vanilla oreos too.
