Method
1. Add the cooked and washed rice water in a bucket, fill the remaining bucket with tap water.
2. Soak the clay pots in the water. Soak for 1 day.
3.After 1 day, remove the pots from the water and wash and scrub the pots with plain water (no soap).
4. Dry the pots completely. If leaving in the sun, 3 hours is enough to dry. If there is no direct sun, let it air dry completely (for a day or two).
5. Once fully dry, apply gingely oil generously and then start cooking.

Notes
1. If you don't have rice water, the pots can be soaked in plain tap water too. If using plain tap water, then you can soak for 3 days too.
2. If using rice water to soak the pots, don't soak for more than 1 day as the water will start stinking.
3. Never wash the pots with soap, there are tiny pores in the clay pot and when you used soap to wash it, the soap will enter the pores making it not good for cooking.
