Butter Beans and Green Peas Curry

Butter beans and green peas curry is a protein rich, highly nutritious curry. Butter beans is a nutrient rich food, a powerful anti oxidant and a protein power house. You can make this as a side dish for roti or pulao. I used fresh butter beans and fresh green peas, you can use the dried or the frozen variety too. If using the dried butter beans, make sure you soak it for a few hours before using it.

Black Eyed Peas Curry

Black Eyed Peas is also known as Karamani in Tamil and Lobia in Hindi. This is a thick and rich gravy made with and it goes well with chapathi. Black eyed peas are rich in protein and fibre. I mostly make a lobia biryani for my kids lunch box and I make a lobia sundal too with these legumes for their snack boxes.

Aloo Gobi Dry Curry

Aloo gobi is an easy and simple Indian side dish made with potatoes and cauliflower. In South India, this is had with a simple rasam or sambar rice and in North India, this is enjoyed with roti. Which ever way you choose to have it, this is a healthy tasty dish! You can make it dry like how I have made here or make it like a gravy too. I made it dry as the dry version goes well with rice.

Egg Gravy

This is a tasty and rich egg gravy which goes very well with pulao or with roti. It's easy and simple to make and loved by kids too! I made this gravy with a puree of onion and tomato as we were having some kids over for lunch. If you prefer to have a little texture in your gravy then you can finely chop the onions and tomatoes and add it in.

Paneer Baby Corn Masala

I usually make a paneer baby corn kurma as a side for pulao which tastes really good so this time I wanted to make a masala as a side dish for roti. Once again this simple dish did not disappoint and tasted really yum! I was going to make the curry with only paneer and baby corn but then added the peas since I had some left over.

Mushroom Drumstick Curry

We have a drumstick tree in our garden and we get lots and lots of drumsticks from it, that my mum shares it with all our neighbors all the time. One time, one of our neighbors, a grandmother, gave me this recipe of mushrooms and drumsticks. I love mushrooms so I was immediately interested and willing to try it out. This turned out great and my husband and me simply loved it! This grandmother tells me she also makes drumstick with mutton....waiting to try that out some other day!

Mushroom Do Pyaza | Easy Mushroom Recipes

Mushroom Do Pyaza makes a delicious side dish for rotis and even dosa. The dish is called Do Pyaza since there are two types of onions used or the onion is added twice. This addition of onions makes this dish very tasty and different.
I'm always in love with mushrooms and I have plenty of mushroom recipes. Check them out!

Soya Kurma | Meal Maker Kurma

Soya nuggets are so rich in protein next to meat, for vegetarians this is a wonderful alternative to meat. If you don't take meat and eggs then you can rely on soya nuggets to meet your daily protein quota. These soya nuggets are also great for kids who don't like eating meat. I prefer the small sized soya chunks to the larger ones. I have already posted soya 65 and soya masala
I love making kurma, my family too loves kurma for idli, dosa and roti. This kurma is finger licking good!

Soya Chunks Masala | Meal Maker Masala | Soya Chunks Recipes

I used to love soya chunks when I was little, I remember my mother making biryani with this meal maker and we used to enjoy it. But as we grew older, my brother and me started noticing a weird flavor and raw odour with these meal makers and completely refused to eat it!

Now many years later, I have found that preparing the soya is the key to remove all raw odour in these meal makers, I use a bit of milk and it works wonders and this has once again become a family favorite!

Check out the soya 65 recipe.

Baby Corn Kurma

Baby Corn is something that I tried only recently and my husband and me loved it! I tried a simple baby corn masala and it paired very well with roti. So this time while we were grocery shopping, I picked up a fresh pack of baby corn and tried this kurma and I have to say this baby corn kurma was even more tasty than the baby corn masala! Very rarely I see my husband licking his hand or plate (he's quite disciplined and never does it!) but this time I was beaming with happiness to see him enjoy the dish so much!

I love a simple vegetable poriyal to go with my rice and make a lot of poriyals for lunch and this is one of the favorite ones. This recipe is not exactly a poriyal but more of a curry. It's absolutely delicious with rice or even roti. And it's a mix of some of my favorite and common vegetable! So it's even better!
