Method
1. Take two 6 or 7 inches cake tins. Grease and line the tin with butter paper or parchment paper so that the cake comes out easily.
2. Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees C for 15-20 mins.
3. Take 1/2 cup of water and add coffee granules to it, heat this mixture and set it aside.
4. Then take milk and add the vinegar it it. Mix well and set it aside, this will be our buttermilk.
5. Now to make the cake batter, take the egg in a bowl, add vanilla, oil and buttermilk to it. Beat well.
6. Then add the sugar and beat well. This makes our wet ingredients.
7. Now to add the dry ingredients, place a sieve over the bowl and add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
8. Sift this into the bowl and mix gently. Do not over mix the batter.
9. Now add the coffee mixture and combine it well. Batter will be thin.
10. Transfer the batter into the prepared cake tins. Tap the tins on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
11. Bake this in the pre heated oven for 20 mins or until a skewer comes out clean.
12. Then remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 15 mins, then remove the cake from the tin and let it cool completely.

For the frosting
1. Take the whipping cream, add the vanilla and icing sugar to it.
2. Beat the cream for 2 mins and add the cocoa powder. Continue to beat till stiff peaks are formed.

Sugar syrup
1. Take 1/4 cup of sugar and add 1/2 cup of water to it, mix well and heat it up till the sugar dissolves.
2. Then cool it completely.

Ganache
1. Melt the chocolate and cream in the microwave and mix well. Allow it to cool down.

Frost the cake
1. Place the first layer of cake, soak it lightly and add a layer of whipped cream and spread evenly.
2. Then place the next layer of cake and soak this layer too with sugar syrup.
3. Frost the entire cake with the cream.
4. Leave the cake in the fridge for 30 mins.
5. Add the remaining whipped cream in a piping bag and leave it in the fridge.
6. After 30 mins, remove the cake from the fridge and add the ganache on top.
7. Leave the cake again for 20 mins.
8. Then decorate the cake as you wish.

Notes
1. I have baked this cake in 2 cake tins, you can bake it in one 7 inch cake tin and cut it into two while frosting.
2. If you bake this in a single cake tin then the baking time will be slightly more.
