Homemade Pizza | Veg Pizza Recipe | Pizza in Oven

Homemade Pizza | Veg Pizza Recipe - In this recipe, we will see how to make a tasty pizza that tastes just like the store bought ones. This pizza is made in the OTG. I have already posted ,many other pizza recipes, that are made on the tawa. Do check that out if you don't have an OTG.


Ingredients 
  • Maida - 1 1/4 cup 
  • Yeast - 1 tsp 
  • Sugar - 1 tsp 
  • Water - 1/2 cup 
  • Salt - 1/4 tso 
  • Onion powder - 1 tsp 
  • Olive oil - 1 tbsp 
  • Garlic powder - 1 tsp 
  • Mixed Herbs - as needed 
  • Vegetables - as needed 
  • Cheese - as needed 
  • Pizza sauce - 1 to 2 tbsp 
  • Red chilli flakes - as needed

Method
1. In a bowl take warm water and add the sugar and yeast, mix well and set aside for 10 mins for the yeast to activate.
2. Then in another bowl, take the flour and add the salt and mix well. 
3. After 10 mins, when the yeast has activated, add the flour into the yeast.
4. Add the oil, garlic powder and onion powder and mixed herbs. Mix well.
5. Now knead the dough for 10 mins. The dough will be sticky to begin with, don't add too much dry flour, if needed add little dry flour. You can also add little extra oil and knead till you get a smooth  soft dough.
6. Place the dough in a greased bowl and add a layer oil over the dough so that it doesn't dry out. 
7. Cover and let it rest for 1-1.5 hours until the dough doubles.
8. In the meantime, get your toppings ready.
9. After 1 hour and 15 mins, the dough has doubled nicely. Punch down the dough and knead lightly.
10. At this time, pre heat the oven to 180 degrees C for 15 mins.
11. Grease the pizza pan with oil. Place the dough on the pan and spread the dough with your fingers to fill the entire pan.
12. Press the corners of the dough. Poke holes on the dough with a fork to prevent the dough from puffing up in the oven.
13. Spread pizza sauce on the dough and spread well.
14. Now spread the vegetable topping on the dough. Spread evenly.
15. Sprinkle some mixed herbs on top. Then s[read the shredded cheese on top of the vegetables.
16. Finally add olives on top.
17. A pizza should be baked at the highest temperature for the lowest amount of time. So if you've pre heated the oven to 250 degrees then bake the pizza for 10-12 mins. If you've pre heated the oven to 180 degrees , then bake the pizza for 20-25 mins.
18. Remove the pizza and sprinkle some mixed herbs and chilli flakes before serving.

Notes
1. Yeast needs a warm sweet environment to activate. So make sure the water is not too hot or too cold. If it's too hot, then the yeast will die, if the water is too cold, then the yeast will not activate. Make sure the yeast is lukewarm. If you put a finger in the water, it should be bearable.
2. Adding onion powder and garlic powder to the dough is optional but it definitely makes the dough more flavorful.
3. If you live in a hot and humid place or if it's summer, then the dough will rise quickly. It will double in 1-1.5 hours. If you live in a cold place or if it's winter, it will take longer for the dough to rise.
4. Use cheddar or mozarella cheese.
5. This makes only 1 pizza.
