This is the most favorite chutney in my home, I have already posted 2 other onion tomato chutneys. One is onion and tomato chutney with coriander and curry leaves and the other is an easy onion tomato chutney. This is also an easy to make, no fuss chutney and tastes great with idli and dosa.
I love the color of this chutney, I was first introduced to this chutney by a cook we had a long time ago. She cooked for us only for a month but I learnt so much from her!
Ingredients
Here are some other chutney recipes
Method
1. In a pan, add half a tsp of oil and add roughly chopped onions and tomatoes. Add the garlic and red chillies and saute until the onions become translucent.
2. Switch off and allow to cool down.
3. Once it's cooled down, transfer to a blender and add salt and blend to a smooth paste.
4. In the same pan, add 2 tsp oil. Add the mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
5. Once the mustard seeds splutter, add the chutney paste and saute until it reaches your desired consistency.
6. Switch off and serve.
Notes
1. You can add more or less chillies according to your preference.
Until next time,
