This is an easy and simple chutney. I like chutneys without coconut and this is one of my favorites. Goes well with idli dosa.
Ingredients
Here are some other chutney recipe
1. Peel the onions.
2. In a pan, add oil and the onions. Fry till the onions are golden brown.
3. Add the red chillies and tamarind piece. Saute for a few more minutes and remove from flame.
4. Allow to cool. Transfer to a blender and blend to a smooth paste.
5. Heat oil in a tadka pan. Add oil, mustard seeds and urad dal and curry leaves.
6. Once it splutters, add to the ground chutney.
Notes
1. You can use big onions also instead of small onions.
2. Adjust the red chillies to your taste.
3. Saute the onions well.
