Chicken Popcorn

This chicken popcorn recipe is so crispy, tasty and delicious! Works for well for an evening snack or an appetizer!


Ingredients

To coat the chicken
  • Rice flour - 1 tbsp
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp
  • Egg - 1
  • Corn flakes - 1/4 cup
  • Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup
  • Oil to deep fry

Method
1. Take bite size boneless chicken in a bowl and wash well.
2. Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic powder, curd, lemon juice, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well.
3. Marinate for 1 hour.
4. After 1 hour in the refrigerator, add the egg, maida, corn flour and mix well.
5. Add the corn flakes in a mixee and grind to a coarse powder.
6. Add the bread crumbs to the corn flakes and mix well.
7. Coat the chicken pieces in the cornflakes/bread crumbs and keep in freezer for 15 mins.
8. Heat oil for deep frying. 
9. Add the coated chicken in the heated oil and fry till it's golden brown.
10. Remove to a tissue paper and fry the next batch.

Notes
1. You can use only corn flakes too.
2. Keeping the coated chicken in the freezer will prevent the bread crumbs / cornflakes from falling off while frying.

STEP BY STEP PICTURES

1. Take bite size boneless chicken in a bowl and wash well.



2. Add all the masala and salt.


3. Add the ginger garlic paste.


4. Add the curd.


5. Add the lemon juice.


6. Add the coriander leaves.


7. Mix well.


8. Keep in refrigerator for 1 hour to marinate.


9. After 1 hour, add the egg.


10. Add the corn flour.


11. Add the rice flour.


12. Mix well and set aside.


13. Blend the corn flakes in a mixee to a coarse powder.



14. Add the bread crumbs.


15. Mix well.


16. Coat the chicken pieces in the corn flakes/bread crumbs mixture.


17. Keep in freezer for 15 mins before frying.


18. Fry in the hot oil till golden brown.




19. Perfect crispy, delicious chicken popcorn is ready!
