This is by far my most favorite dessert of all time! Simply because it gets ready within 5 minutes and my sudden cravings for chocolate is instantly met. If you are even mildly interested in baking, you will have all these ingredients readily available in your kitchen. It is ridiculously simple to make and wonderful to taste!
According to me, this is the most useful recipe I have procured, as a result of all the hours I have spent browsing through the internet! Since I love chocolate, this recipe comes in very handy in times of emergency and it serves just one or maybe 2 if your in the mood to share (I normally don't share chocolate!), so no feeling guilty for eating too many brownies.
This recipe is available all over the internet as instant microwave brownie or brownie in a mug. I adapted this recipe from Art of Desert. I have made this brownie plenty of times and I have tweaked it to adapt my taste buds.
INSTANT MICROWAVE BROWNIE
Preparation time 5 mins | Cooking time 70 seconds | Serves 1 or 2
Here are some other instant microwave recipes
Method
1. In a small microwaveable glass bowl, mix together the oil (or butter), milk and sugar. Mix well until sugar is dissolved.
2. Add the vanilla, cocoa powder, flour and salt. Add a dash of chocolate sauce. Mix till combined.
3. Add the chocolate chips and mix well. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 10 seconds. Allow to cool for 1 to 2 minutes.
4. Top with a scoop of ice cream or some more chocolate chips and drizzle with more chocolate syrup.
Notes
1. You can change the quantities of each ingredient as you prefer it.
2. Try to use milk instead of water. Milk and butter makes it more rich!
3. My microwave is 900 watts, adjust the timings accordingly. Mine is always done by 70 seconds. If it's not done by 70 seconds, cook for 10 more seconds.
4. Try using powdered sugar if you have at hand, that dissolves easily. If using granulated sugar, spend an extra minute mixing to make sure the sugar dissolves in the milk and oil. If the sugar is not dissolved, you will be able to feel it in the cooked brownie.
Until next time,

DeleteWill have to do this one!
ReplyDeleteHow long it shld be baked in an OTG? I don't have a microwave
ReplyDeleteSorry I have never tried this recipe in OTG, you will have to experiment!
DeleteI baked it in OTG until the toothpick came out clean (took around 30-35 min) unfortunately the crust was hard :( I think these instant cakes turn out good only in microwave oven.
ReplyDelete30-35 minutes is way too long! 8" cakes with 1.5 cups flour takes 30-35 minutes, I think this recipe with just 2 tbsp flour will take a lot less time. Maybe that's why the crust was hard.
DeleteI kept checking in between... The toothpick didn't come out clean so had to bake for long. I baked it in a coffee cup.
DeleteThen maybe something else was off, 35 mins is just too long for such a small brownie! And since it's a brownie, it's supposed to be gooey and fudgy not fully baked like a cake.
DeleteOkie... I'll reduce the time n experiment again :) Thanks a lot for your quick response :)
ReplyDeleteTried this out now. Simply delicious.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
