Coriander Chutney Recipe | Kothamalli Chutney Recipe | Easy Chutney Recipes

Coriander / Cilantro Chutney is a very tasty and flavorful chutney. A good change from the coconut chutney we make so often. And this is a healthy dish too! This is a versatile chutney, you can have this wth idlis, dosai or any chaat items or snacks or even breads.




Ingredients
  • Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1 medium 
  • Green Chilli - 2
  • Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind - a small piece
  • Oil - 2 tsp
To Temper
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/4 tsp

Method
1. Wash and chop the coriander leaves.
2. In a kadai, add oil, onions and green chillies. Saute till onions turn color.
3. Add the coconut, tamarind and coriander leaves, saute for a few seconds and take it off heat. 
4. After it cools, grind it all together with a little salt to a smooth paste.
5. Heat oil in a tadka pan, add mustard and urad dal. When the mustard splutters, add it to the chutney and mix well.



Notes
1. Onions are optional. You can skip it.
2. You can also add a small piece of ginger and garlic to this recipe for a different taste.
