Aloo Gobi Dry Curry

Aloo gobi is an easy and simple Indian side dish made with potatoes and cauliflower. In South India, this is had with a simple rasam or sambar rice and in North India, this is enjoyed with roti. Which ever way you choose to have it, this is a healthy tasty dish! You can make it dry like how I have made here or make it like a gravy too. I made it dry as the dry version goes well with rice.

Aloo Tikki | Potato Cutlets

Aloo tikki or potato cutlets are tasty and delicious snacks that can be made for the evening. These cutlets are always a favorite among kids. They are made by adding a lot of mixed spices to cooked potatoes along with a binding agent. These cutlets can be deep fried or shallow fried.
Growing up, my mom used to make lots of cutlets and my brother and me always enjoyed eating it. The most favorite of our cutlets was the mutton cutlets and till today nothing beats my mom's tasty mutton cutlets!

Sweet Potato Roast

Since sweet potatoes are sweet in nature we normally we don't make a roast with it, we just pressure cook them and eat it and it tastes really good. But since sweet potatoes are very healthy, I was looking to include it in my kids diet and decided to make a roast out of it as they normally love potato roast.

To mask or cut down the sweetness of this veggie, you will have to add a bit more masala to it and even then some sweet potatoes are too sweet and you cannot mask it's sweetness. Some sweet potatoes are mildly sweet and this roast tastes really good when made with those ones. My husband refused to eat it as he felt the roast was still sweet!! But my kids and me enjoyed it!!

This goes very well with roti or any rice variety.

Potato Roast | Urulai Kizhangu Roast

Potato roast is the most easiest side dish you can make!! I can't think of anything that is more simpler than a potato roast! I make this quite often since my kids like eating it with curd rice. You can adjust the spice mix as per your requirements. I usually add less spice for my kids and make it more spicy for my husband.

Potato Podimas

I love the simplicity of this dish and yet this is a favorite in our home! When there's not much time to make an elaborate dish, then the faithful potato comes to the rescue. I don't add much spice to this dish since I mostly make this for my kids, you can make it more spicy to your preference.

Dum Aloo Recipe

Dum Aloo is nothing but potatoes cooked under dum or pressure. This is a famous North Indian dish served in restaurants and is a good accompaniment for rotis and parathas. It can be made as a semi gravy or a dry dish.
Mostly dum aloo is prepared by frying the potatoes in oil but I skipped this step. You can fry the potatoes in oil and then continue for a more authentic dish.

Spicy Potato Masala Recipe

Potatoes are a hot favorite, when there are no other veggies in the house, then potatoes comes to the rescue. This is another one of my anni's fabulous recipes. This tasted absolutely fatastic! I have already posted two other potato dishes, a potato fry - which is a dry dish and a potato masala - which is a poori masala. This potato masala is different from the other two, this has onions and tomato and more spices and more flavor! Totally yum!

Potato Masala Recipe / Poori Masala

This potato masala is one of the easiest masalas that can be made! Although it is very simple to make, it tastes absolutely yum! This is usually made as a side dish for poori but I like to make it for my daughter every now and then. Potaotes are one of the very few vegetables that she eats so I make this with very little spice. You can increase the spice level.

Aloo Paratha Recipe

The past few days I've been vacationing, some much needed time off from my mundane stressed life. We went to my Perima's house and oh what a lovely time we had! I remember those days when we used to chug along by train for 2 days and reach their lovely home but now life is so much simplified that we reached in 2.5 hours by flight, all the better since we got more time to spend with them!

Aloo Paratha

My Perima and Perippa and my dear cousins are some of my most favorite people and they are such a delight to spend time with. I thoroughly enjoy my visits and I'm glad that this time, my kids also enjoyed tremendously. The love they shower on us is incomparable!
