Garlic Chutney Recipe | Poondu Chutney Recipe | Easy Chutney Recipes

If you like the taste of garlic then this delicious chutney is for you. And if you don't like garlic, then you too should try this chutney - it will change your opinion and you will love it! Goes well with idli and dosa. I love this chutney, it's a little spicy and tastes awesome.




Ingredients
  • Garlic pods - a handful (about 20 -30)
  • Shallots - 5
  • Red chllies - 2
  • Tamarind - a small piece
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
To Temper
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/8 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few

Method
1. Add a tsp of oil in a kadai and saute the onions and garlic along with the red chillies.
2. Once it cools down, transfer it to a blender and add the tamarind piece and required salt and blend to a fine paste.



3. In a small tadka pan, add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
4. Once the mustard seeds splutter add to the chutney.
5. Serve hot with idli or dosa.



Notes
1. You can store this chutney for a few days in the refrigerator.
2. This makes a very spicy chutney. Adjust the spice level.
